2nd Feb 2023. 2 x Large cod and chips. Take away. Took 20 mins to get home but after oven reheating still excellent. Good price and friendly staff. Best we've had in 3 years living in the area. We will be back once the damn roadworks at the nearby junction have finally been completed.less
Once the son took over, Kirby Cross Fisheries was decent, food always hot, good, proper chip shop chips. Sadly a few months ago, they appear to have changed their potato supplier and the chips changed to being slightly thinner. Not quite fries, sort of a medium between chips and fries. It was a bad move. They're really not good at all. We generally go here once a week and it's very clear that the chips have changed. They now have a real earthy flavour to them, they're never crispy and we just don't like them. They also changed the size of the portions available, they used to have three sizes, now there are only two. The large one is too big, the other one is too small. It's a real shame, they had a decent reputation but that's all gone down the can in the last few months.less
